Dear Board Members, Scientific Committee Members and Associates of the World Dentofacial Sleep Society,
We hope this email finds you well in good health and high spirits. We are thrilled to share some exciting updates and milestones achieved by our society in recent months.
First and foremost, we are proud to announce that pretty much most of the esteemed countries' academies of dental sleep society have joined us as associate societies of the WDSS.
So far, the following societies became our associate society
The European Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
Sociedad Iberoamericana de Medicina Oral de Sueno (The Iberoamerican Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine)
Academia Mexicana de Medicina dental De Suno (The Mexican Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine)
The Japanese Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
The Taiwanese Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
The Korean Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine ( approved by board, in the middle of process)
The British Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine ( verbally approved, in the middle of process)
Asociacion Colombiana de Medicina Dental del Sueno ( The Colombian Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine)
Venezuela Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine ( in the middle of process)
Pediatric and Adult Airway Network of New York
India and Malaysia currently don't have an official dental sleep medicine academy, so they are establishing a national academy of dental sleep medicine.
We are waiting for board approval from Brazil and Argentina currently. If you know any other existing dental sleep societies in other countries, please let us know, so we can reach out to them.
Furthermore, I would like to express the success of our online educational sessions. Our online sessions will be open for everyone for free until the end of this year and will be only for our members starting next year. You can check the schedule here. https://dentofacialsleep.org/educational-sessions/. We had an overwhelming response to our last monthly online lecture from Dr. Cibele Dal Fabbro. The interest and enthusiasm shown by over 300 attendees exceeded the capacity of our zoom online meeting. As a result, we have promptly increased the maximum capacity of our registration to accomodate a larger audience. Next online lecture will be on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 12 PM by Dr. Noah Siegel talking about Surgical Options for OSA. Please register https://member.dentofacialsleep.org/event-5341073
We would like to take this opportunity to invite companies that you may be aware of to consider sponsoring our society. As a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting education, research and innovation, we rely on the generous support of industry partners to further our mission. If you know of or are close to good company, please connect to help and support the WDSS. By sponsoring the WDSS, companies can gain exposure to a diverse network of professionals.
Lastly, we encourage all members and associates to sign up for WDSS membership and spread words, if you sign up the individual membership now, it will last until the end of 2024 ! Also please encourage to participate our Inaugural meeting in Rio, Brazil October 21-23, 2023. If you register through our website, we still grant an early bird rate ! https://dentofacialsleep.org/biennial-meeting/ This highly anticipated event will bring us together from around the world to advance our field and we will have an EPIC gala on Saturday on October 21, bring your dress/tux and dancing shoes! :)
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the World Dentofacial Sleep Society. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of patients and change the world. Cheers!
Best Regards,
Audrey and Leopoldo
